How can counseling help you?
Counseling can help you recognize and unlock from old patterns of reacting as you learn new ways of responding in relationships. As you move out of old ways of trying to make life work, you experience ongoing change at the core of who you are, how you feel about yourself, and how you relate to others.
Counseling is not a quick fix and change is a process. You are ready if you are:
- open to change
- desiring honest feedback
- committed to lasting change
You will reach your goal of lasting change (transformation from the inside out) if you are willing to:
- look at negative thoughts you have about yourself (these negative beliefs are fear-based and self-protective)
- face where your negative thoughts sabotage your efforts to change (negative thoughts prevent us from taking risks, putting ourselves out in front of others, or pursuing a dream)
- risk stepping out of your comfort zone (no longer staying where it feels safe and familiar)
- focus on changing yourself, not others
